I’ve had enough.
Enough bad decision making, bad leadership, enough of the madness, enough of the status quo. I’ve had enough misinformation, hurting each other and destroying the planet. How much more evidence do we need that our way of living isn’t sustainable? That our systems don’t work? The state of affairs is not okay, and it’s our job to fix it.
Deciding that we have, collectively, had enough can be scary. Some may resist changing their mindset from life happening to them, to them actively living and creating their lives.
If you have had enough and are willing to take action…read on.
Just brave enough
I promise that you can be less afraid. You only need to be just brave enough to play your part. No matter your role or job title, you can help to create a better present and future. So use your unique strengths and abilities, and know that we will be better for it.
Many never get to this ‘aha’ moment of realizing that they can step into the world and be part of the change. Others do, but later fall into the trap of exhaustion and pure self preservation – they give up.
Celebrate the wins along the way
Apathy in making change comes from not recognizing and celebrating success along the way and from being overwhelmed by the audaciousness or enormity of the end goal. If we set out with a binary of achieving and not achieving, our goals are less likely to be reached. We should celebrate each milestone on the way towards the end goal.
Don’t go it alone
If you have had enough, find the tribe of people who share your frustration. Playing our part doesn’t have to be lonely. By sharing knowledge, attributes and skills, good collaborators accelerate the change we so urgently seek.
It can be scary to take control of our own futures and those we lead. The world needs more everyday heroes, more great leaders to help reverse the damage that we are doing. Creating change doesn’t have to be as scary as it seems as you only need to be a little bit brave to start a change and join others to finish the job.
